This gentleman is being a bit elusive. Does anyone here have access to baptism records or other, that could lead me to his parents, etc?

Do you know who he married, where he lived, etc? I can find a William Houston, born around 1799 (1797 on another) who was a fish dealer, but none closer to your year. Undecided

He married Elizabeth Nicoll, and they had a child, Ann, in 1847 in Kinnell, Angus.

Found his death certificate now - he died February 5th 1874 at Loanhead, Kinnell. He was illegitimate and his parents were William Houstin and Margaret Mathers. I've attached that column, can't make out what's said about William.

Think it says " Supposed a farm Servt, nothing more known about him"
