This should be an easy one please as the first name is quite distinctive: FLOWER HOWELL b. circa 1784 I have no idea of his occupation but he was born in Bexley apparently and his children were born there, Ann 1808, Flower (jnr) 1810, Maria 1812, George 1815, Sarah 1817, Joseph 1819, Harriet 1821, James 1823, Charles 1825 and Amelia 1831. He married an Ann Harris in 1807 in Bromley if she's still alive in 1851 or 61 perhaps she gave her place of birth as Bromley too.
Many thanks
Debbie

Wow! Trillions of Brownie points Mary, you found Flower and his daughter!! Is that 'occupation formerly a sawyer'? It's nothing to do with a previous surname is it? Just clarifying. LOL. The usage of the christian name Flower must have ended with his children. What a shame! His father was Flower and he called a son by the same name. I imagine it was deemed as rather cissy by then.
Many grateful thanks again
Debbie

Scrub that James I gave before in the 1851 census 1851 No. 4 Surrey Place, Bexley, Kent In the same dwelling as the Russells who were next door to the Howells in 1841 James Howell Lodger U 23 Sawyer Kent Bexley Heath HO107; Piece: 1607; Folio: 99; Page: 24
Yes - formerly Sawyer would presumably mean he retired from that occupation.
