Oversize photo from newsprint
« on: Friday 03 July 09 06:56 UTC (UK) »

Is there anyone who could take on a photo, taken digitally from a 1915 newspaper, which is oversize for posting here?  It shows three seated old codgers, of whom I would like one 'improved'.  Any takers please send me a PM with email address.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Ainslie...Why not post a smaller version on here first so that people know in advance what they are taking on...if they want to rise to the challenge...they can send a P.M. to ask for the larger file.....and post the results on here....this link will help.

Hope this helps.

Carol [and others?]
Thank you for the suggestion - the first time I have tried the helpful artistics here.

Here is a cropped version of the photo of the newspaper pic, and any attempt to improve the right-hand gent would be appreciated.

My try

Maybe if you rescanned this at a higher resolution we would get a better result. This is a low 144 dpi and we really need it to be much higher (300-600) to "see" what is there when we zoom in.
If you can rescan remember  to scan with no compression and as a color photo

Thanks to all - much better than anything I could do.  The trouble is that I took the photo off a book of cuttings from 1915 and have no means of enhancing the image.
I appreciate all efforts.
