Hi

Through the birth certificate of my nan Esther Annie Holmes, I have discovered that her parents were Henry Holmes and Louisa Matilda White.

Esther was born 4th Jan 1905 in Caversham (district of Henley then).

Trying to find Henry on the 1901 census - no luck.

Any assistance would be great or if anyone can trace his marriage to Louisa.

I think he also remarried.

If he was working away, i presume he would have to had complete a census from where ever he was in the UK.

Could he have left the UK or joined the Army

How would I now check.

It is great that we have made so much progress since getting the birth information - now a new challenge
