Topic: looking for Isabella Little (Read 242 times)

Could anyone help me to find Isabella Little I believed that she was born about 1904 in Salford Manchester, but the only one I can find is an Isabella born 3rd quarter 1898, I know she had a daughter born in 1940 and think the Isabella I have found may be too old. Isabella married an Arthur Ogden again I do not have any dates for this other than a birth for their daughter born 1940, any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi,
A more likely one would be the Isabella Little June Qtr. 1910 Manchester Volume 8d page 177. Or possibly the one born Toxteth Park in 1907.

Thank you so much for your help Mo I am still unsure which is the correct Isabella, I have also trailed through marriages from 1940 back to 1922 (so far) and cannot find a marriage for this lady. Then again , I have never found this family history research easy! Many, many thanks for your time

There appears to have been another daughter born in 1934 - I will pm details in case she is still alive

Many, many thanks for your time and help CaroleW you have been most helpful, the thing that confused me with this was the birth in 1940 of a daughter (mothers maiden name Little) but you have sorted that out for me. You say that on the 1911 census Isabella is living in Salford could you give me the other names of the household she is living with if thats possible, dont worry if you cant I much appreciate the help that you have alredy given to me.

Sorry - there are a lot of Littler's in Salford but only one Isabella. Unfortunately - the 1911 is only available on a pay per view basis so you need to buy credits to find who she is with
If you find her parents names - post details and we can check the 1901 census for you

Thank you so much for your reply CaroleW I think that I have now found the family in 1911 Isabella is aged 8 and living with her parents and siblings. Her parents are William Henry Littler aged 43 and Mary J Littler aged 38 living in Salford I cannot however find them in in 1901 (I appreciate that this is before the birth of Isabella) but there are older children. In 1911 there are Florence m aged 19, George E aged 17, Alfred aged 16, Edith aged 12, and Joseph Henry aged 10, so I would have thought that these children would be on the 1901 census. Many thanks for your help

Thank you so much Carole W, Trish and Tati what can I say you have worked so hard on my behalf and given me such a lot of information, Mary Jane Littler was born in Holland so that adds another set of questions. I don't like to ask after you have all been so helpful, but I cannot find the family in 1891 I have found them in 1881 if anyone fancies a break from the lovely sunshine it would be much appreciated.

1891 ref is as follows:
