Death John THOMPSON after 1901
« on: Thursday 23 July 09 17:46 UTC (UK) »

Hi All   Smiley

I have a 2x G Grandfather who died after the 1901 Census at the time of the 1901 census he was living at the Weavers Almshouses in New Wanstead and was already approximately 70

It was suggested to me by another kind member that deaths for Wanstead might appear in the West Ham District registers.  I have tried "free bmd" and I cannot seem to find any John Thompson that fits?  Huh

My John Thompson was born in 1830 + or - 2 years in Leek, Staffordshire.  Can be found in Bethnal Green area on the 1871, 1881, and 1891 censuses.

Anybody locate a possible candidate in the death registrations that perhaps I missed?

Thanks all
Susan

dont forget that his age would only be as accurate as provided by the Informant of death.

There was a chap in 1909 West Ham, a few years out ....

HI  Past Master

YOu are correct.  I had seen this one but I have never seen his name wih Robert attached to his John.

Always just John Thompson.  Very plain and common name unfortunately and thus lots of them!!  The only distinguishing thing was my John always said LEEK STAFFORDSHIRE as his place of birth and never waivered on that.

I will keep it close and decide if I want to go for the certificate or not

Thanks again
