APPERLEY WW1 Soldier's record misplaced
« on: Wednesday 01 July 09 10:25 UTC (UK) »

Hi

There  is a short run of records related to APPERLEY Joseph John, Private, 260100, Worcester Regiment, misfiled with the records of a LEONARD Michael.  To view on Ancestry search "Military Records > British Army WW1 Service Records, 1914-1920", scroll down the window and click on "L" in the table, then on "Le" and finally "Leo".  This should bring up image no. 1 of 10070 images: the Apperley images can be reached by entering 6637 in the image no. window at the top and clicking "go".  This should bring up a charred but easily readable fragment from a service record for soldier no. 260100 and clicking "next" will bring up further fragments up to image no. 6640.

Good hunting
