Hi
If anyone is going into the records office could they please see if a death of William Tucker in Ideford is recorded either
between 1784 and 1813
or in 1869
and any details

FreeBMD has 2 William Tucker deaths registered in 1869:
William Frederick Tucker MarQ 1869 Newton A 5b 121 (age 0)
William Tucker JunQ 1869 Newton A 5b 100 (age 85)
Ideford is in the Newton A registration district.

Thanks for your reply amd for pointing this out.
I am trying to find out which of 2 William Tuckers born a few years apart and just afew miles apart is 'mine'. I have seen the 1869 death registration but it does not confirm anything unless the actual record shows anything more. Also, one of then could have died young before marrying in 1813, hence the request for anyone going into the records office.
Anyone help please??

Hi,
The registration certificate for the 85 year old William will show his occupation, where he died, cause of death, and also the name and address of the informant, who is often a member of the family.
For a death between 1784 and 1813 parish burial registers will need to be searched.
Have you looked at the Somerset Online Parish Clerk site?

Thanks once again.
It is in Devon not Somerset and unfortunately there does not appear to be an OPC for Ideford. As I don't live in England I cannot get to look up the records, hence my asking.

Hi
I will take a look at the burials but as you say they do not solve my mystery. Nonetheless, thanks for looking and replying.
Anyone else able to look for Willam Tucker dying between 1784 and 1800???
