Hi all
Anyone else having trouble with aol. I keep losing connection and have been for about 4 days.

AOL has been driving me crazy lately. All manner of things are lost and other pages appear in their stead.
BUT this morning the computer is working as it has not done for sometime and the speed is so quick as to be beyond belief. I do pay for a higher broadband connection which seems to be a waste of money
A person I know has had not trouble with AOL

I have been thru the technical problems with AOL and they stated that my BT Modem which they supplied in Sept 2004 was rather old and should be replaced.
Our telephone exchange is not much more that a hundred yards away across a small field at the back of our house.
It is good to have your input

Hi,
I wouldn't go to any unnecessary expense or assume the problem is at your end, not for a short while anyway.
Although I use AOL as a provider with the router they supplied for a wireless connection, I prefer Firefox. The last twice I've logged on I've had the apology from AOL saying they're sorry there's been an unexpected problem and they have to close ??
I wasn't trying to connect to the AOL browser and I didn't lose my internet connection, so therefore if they hadn't told me there was a problem I wouldn't have known .. if this makes sense ??
Sounds like they're the ones who are tinkering with things ??
When I've contacted them in the past, nine times out of ten they deny the problem is with AOL. The issue then unexplainedly rights itself. With the astronomical charges they demand for a call, I've also found it helps to phone them shortly after 08.00 GMT then you won't be required to repeat your details a thousand times before they even get to the problem involved !!
