Thank you again MIGKY. I did contact the library as you suggested and they were very helpful, quickly finding the death notice from the Manchester Evening News.  I dont' think I'm breaking any copyright laws by posting here:

"Scott - On July 27, 1941, at his home, 131, Ryebanks Road, Firswood, JAMES MILLER, aged 57 years, dearly loved husband of Catherine SCOTT.  Peace at last.  Internment at the Southern Cemetery to-morrow, Tuesday at 3pm.  Further inquiries to Messrs. James C. Broome, Downing Street, Manchester I. Phone 2902 Ardwick ."

This begs a few questions....of course.  No children were listed so does that mean they had none?

Also, can someone help me locate the marriage record of James Miller Scott and Catherine and/or any birth records of thier children...if any?
