Fairground Worker Help needed
« on: Friday 31 July 09 14:36 UTC (UK) »

Hi all
does anybody know where i can find info on my grandfather who i am led to believe worked on the fair grounds, between Yorkshire, Derbyshire & Notts.  Smiley

This would have been between 1901 & 1918.
I have contacted showmans guild but with no reply. Huh

Person i am looking for is a James Henry Watson b1874 in Idle WRY.

Any info much appreciated

Colin.

Hi Suz
Yes she was Asadelia Veronica Walsh. Cheesy
They married in 1895.
Dont know what happened to her as cant find anything only in 1901 census they were living in Nelson Lancs. Smiley
After that i have lost track of him, only thing i know is he ended up on the Fairs & turned up in Derby, where he met my Grandma, they never married as i think he was still married to Asadelia.  Huh

Hi Suz
Tell you what when i first started with this side of line, i went in wrong direction so many times. there is that many Watsons in Yorkshire it drove me mad.
I cant rule out this one though he seemed a bit of a lad Grin.
The only thing that i can rule out is that he always seem to use his full name James Henry.

Do you have a Fathers name for the James you have as this James could be the first one started researching. Smiley
Thanks anyway
