Hi, I was wondering if you had any information on which ship the Douglass family sailed on to Canada? Or if you have any other information on the family once they reached Canada? Thanks!

I don't have my files in front of me at the moment, and I don't remember the name of the ship right now. But the ship arrived in June of 1854 in New York(sailed from Liverpool, UK and Cork, Ireland). Not sure how the Family traveled to Canada, (by land or by water). But they settled in the area of Brussels, Ontario, Canada, where most of them lived most of their lives.

Hi, Thanks so much for the information, I really appreciate it. I'm looking into a few things in regards to my partner's family. His dad has a lot of information on the family back in Scotland, including a massive family tree, however he hasn't really been interested in tracing how they got to Canada and what happened once they arrived.
He's away on vacation at the moment, but when he gets back next week I'll send him an email and ask if he has information that might help you in regards to James & Mary and the family prior to that. It's my understanding that he has extensive information tracing the Douglas family back in Scotland. I'll let you know when I hear from him.
