I'm unsure just how to find anything further on this couple and welcome any suggestions.
Richard Wadsworth, farmer Blacker Hill, Barnsley married first Adelaide Methley. She dies 1893 and 1894 he marries Grace Jaques (Rotherham). 1901 sees him as Innkepper, Pheasant Inn, 55 Barnsley Rd, Hoyland Nether with presumably 2 of Adelaide's children. There my trail ends.
I'm assuming they stayed around Platts Common/Hoyland/Wombwell/Worsborough - and possibly stayed in hotel trade.
Appreciate any suggestions. Heather (Tasmania)

Hi Heather
Have you looked for them in the 1911 census? It's now available on the pay site http://www.1911census.co.uk/

Hi Anna, I had checked the free access portion of 1911 census - and repeatedly got a nil response so haven't gone thru payment yet. I have had luck with other members of the Jaques family so assumed this one was not worth it. Many thanks for your response. Heather

Maidmarion and Lizzie W,
Thank you for the pointer to the historical directories. New to me and certainly worth checking out. And the Rotherham looks worth me pursuing. Kind regards, Heather

Hi Heather,
They do appear to be on the 1911. If you'd like a pointer to them - let me know. Are you aware the area they were in would be Wortley? People can be confused by Wortley, often thinking it's Wortley the Leeds suburb. Wortley, South Yorkshire was a registration district which covered Hoyland. See here.................http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/wortley.html

Thank you Lizzie, Heather & maidmarion,
I now have a surfeit of Wadsworth at Wortley to sieve. I'll improve my use of the 1911 census. Unfortunately can't see the Wickersley clan connecting but will keep them in mind and will start work on the Directories.
