Hi again,
It is truly ambiguous a google search is very inconclusive.
I found references to it in http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ to a 1945 birth in the Melbourne Argus.
another site that might prove useful is http://www.wotsmygenes.com/results.asp?t=Electoral%20Roll/Names%20List&c=Any
also http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/collection/database/?irn=30177 refers to it being near the Darling River in NSW and http://www.darlingriverrun.com.au/Product-Search.html may also have some useful info.
It could have been Young, Hay, Dubbo, Junee, Wentworth etc all had hospitals and gaols in the time frame. All in what is now the Murray- Darling District of NSW, Possibly at Young as he later worked on the Melbourne Wodonga railway and Young is in reasonable proximity to Albury Wodonga.
Again it might pay to contact the group supplying the information.
regards
Robyn

I see that the question relates to your Dr Joseph Theophils HEELEY. He lived at Seymour, Victoria from 1864 to 1876 ie according to the many items in the Victorian Government Gazettes. First registered in Young, NSW in 1876 according to Government Gazettes.... a little different to the info on the linked site.
Young is at least 200 kms north of Wodonga. Seymour is approx. the same distance south. I would not say near Wodonga at all and according to all items in gazettes, Dr Heeley lived at Seymour - appointment as MO, Coroner, JP, School committees etc from 1864 to 1876/7.
Link given by me on a previous thread about Dr Joseph Theophilus HEELEY where it is stated he worked at Darling & District Hospital and Gaol. http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,390458.0.html and link on that thread http://www.medicalpioneers.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?detail=1&id=1279
First Registered: 1864 Vic No. 446 Addresses: New Zealand 1862 # Melbourne, Vic 1864 # Seymour, Vic 1873 # Young, NSW 1883 Positions Held: JP, GMO, PV, Surgeon Darling District Hospital and Gaol. # Medical Officer, Melbourne to Wodonga Railway
Am waiting on emails that will hopefully give more positive information on the two institutions.
Cheers Cando

He didn't live in Melbourne according to the addresses in the items in the gazettes. Seymour was his official address in Victoria. His places of abode would be the same as his medical registration ie licence to practise.
