Kilburn Lodge, Edgware Road
« on: Thursday 02 July 09 14:07 BST (UK) »

I am trying to find information about the home of my Great-Grandparents (Edward and Eliza Clifford) in 1871.

In the census, the address is given as Kilburn Lodge, Edgware Road - the district is Hampstead St John > District 26.

Next door to them, there is a Stanmore Lodge.

I have a photo of the house, which is very big, with a large garden.

I have done some Googling, but cannot find anything. Where could I look to find information about this property, or photos of Edgware Road at that time?

I would be very grateful for any help.

Many thanks

Hi

This seems to have been in the Kilburn Priory area of Kilburn - which was within Hampstead RD - see this list of addresses for 1851 which includes a reference to Stanmore Lodge (but not, at that date, Kilburn Lodge - I wonder whether it was either built after 1851 or was a later name for an address appearing in this list?):

Here's some history of the development of the area:
