Watson-George McCallum
« on: Wednesday 01 July 09 14:57 UTC (UK) »

This is probably a very tall order.
I am seeking any information on Frederick and Alexander Gavin
Watson who moved from Montreal to California during the 1940's-50's.
They may have descendants in California, but I know not where.
I am given to understand they were both buried in California.
Regretably I have no addresses.

Do you have a date and/or place of birth for them?

The California Death Index from 1940-1997 is here, if they died in California:  http://vitals.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ca/death/search.cgi

Hi Shellyesq and merjones,
First, please accept my apologies.  I totally misread my information.
I put it down either to age or the extremely hot weather here in Spain.
The names should have read John Haswell Watson and George McCallum Watson.
I have found them both on the site you suggested Shellyesq.
Merjones, once again my apologies.
It does appear that there is a strong chance of family members being in LA
and I am pursuing my search.
Thanks again, Ian

Seeking descendants of George McCallum Watson and his brother
John Haswell Watson.  Both born in Montreal-John in 1914 - George in 1921.
Mother's maiden name was Bessie Fowler who was born in Aberdeen, Scotland.
John died in Los Angeles in 1980.
George died in San Bernardino in 1985.
My link is with the Fowler line.
Grateful thanks,
Ian

You might want to try to get obituaries for these gentlemen.  The Social Security Death Index says John Watson last resided in Alhambra, Los Angeles Co., and George last resided in Montclair, San Bernadino Co.  It looks like there might be volunteers who will do look-ups in these areas on www.raogk.org.

I found something on a descendant of George, too.  I'll send it, in case it's something different than what merjones found.

merjones and shellesq,
You both recently pm'd me with some very helpful info on this
family. Now I can't find it anywhere.
Any chance of a repeat please.
I am making progress with this family.
Thanks so much,
Ian
