Hi Colin. Thanks for reply. Sorry my mistake, it was Mary (not Jane, she married George Wright, no idea if they were related? This does your head in sometimes).
Re Jacob's wife Maria, do you think this is her death?  "Death for Marie Nicol Sept.1917 age 56y Uxbridge?
This is puzzling us "Marriage 2nd Q 1917 St.Martin in the Field between Bessie E.A. Napper and David Nicol   Only thing is this is quarter BEFORE Marie died if as above?" I am now wandering IF David Nicol was previously married as you suggested & had a son by same name who married Bessie Napper, niece of Jacob?
Have you or anyone solved this?  Huh
Re personal messages, I look forward to the instruction.
Thanks Doidy

Hi Doidy,
I have tried unsuccessfully to find her on the 1911 census and the London parish bmd. You are right when you say it is a little confusing: On the 1891 census she is Marie Clara Napper b Germany and on the 1901 she is Clara Nicol b Germany. David Nicol m Marie Clara Napper 1895 Westminster but there is also a David McNicol m Clara Caroline M Napper 1895 Westminster. The Marie who d in Uxbridge could be her but if we could find out what the situation was in 1911 it might give us a better idea. I will keep trying and let you know if I find anything more.

I have found a little more info on Jacob Napper's first marriage. There were 4 births but sadly none of them lived very long. John Napper d 26 May 1880 Westminster aged 3 days. 3 unnamed Napper females d 24 July 1881 Westminster aged 5 minutes, 15 minutes and 25 minutes. In all 4 cases the Father was Jacob Napper, 13 Great Crown Court, occupation Greengrocer. It looks as if his wife Gwenleon probably died in child birth as she her death was registered in the 3rd quarter of 1881.
