parker family

Hi everyone.  I'm new to rootschat, but I've been following the Bilston input with interest as my great grandfather was from here.  I've managed to trace the various branches of the family back to around 1846 where a Joseph Parker was born and according to the 1896 Kelly's directories he was running the “Bird in Hand PH in the High Street. He had (I think) seven children by his wife Selina.  I’ve been following  the threads but never seen the name “Parker” pop up. I would be most grateful if anyone has any info re the PH or the man himself.

Hi Reg,
welcome to Rootschat, i'm sure you'll find all the help you need on here as there's a wealth of experiance and resources available.  Smiley
i can't help with the Parker's at the moment but when you've made 3 posts and have the PM facility available i've 2 photo's and a map showing the location of the PH which i can send to you (can't post them on the board)
i haven't been on to much lately due to various reasons but the Staffordshire board is a popular place and there's usualy someone with good local knowledge pop's on regularily so you shouldn't have to wait to long!
  best wishes,Tony  Smiley

Hi Tony
Thank you for your prompt reply.  I will eagerly look forward to getting the items you mention as I have spent some time searching through records but never came across pictures of the area. (probably being a newbie) Also, hopefully, someone may give a further insight into local knowledge of the Bilston, Staffordshire area. Best regards. Reg.  Smiley

Hi
Have just found out that Joseph Parker was running a further PH in High Street called the Bird in Hand, so would be interested in your offer of Bilston map.
Best regards
