Davidson, McDonald - Dallas

Please help, any information on George Davidson who had an illegitimate daughter with Margaret McDonald b:1848 d:1891.  Their daughter was Ann McDonald b:1865 d:1943.  On the 1871 & 1881 Dallas census she was listed as Ann Davidson.

Have you tried the Kirk Session minutes? The Kirk Sessions used to spend a lot of time and energy chasing the errant fathers of illegitimate children. If the Dallas KS minutes have survived they will be in the National Archives of Scotland www.nas.gov.uk
