hi,,only john syner i can find born 1813 is in the royal melville hospital kent in 1861 with wife anne and children edward and caroline,,,,,,he is listed as a greenwich pensioner,,,so ..ex army ??

Hi
started on my tree again John Syner was indeed a master mariner he was captain of the ship that sank in the Bristol Channel I have some reference to it.
I will scan the info however the name of the vessel was unknown to me.
John is my husband John's gggggrandfather
