Hi Monica, Thank you for the info, all i new of the Bradshaw family was that Janet Bradshaw was my Grandfathers Mother so i will go through each part of your thread with the info i have and see where it leads me. I have an extract of marriage of John Gemmell and Janet Bradshaw in 1868.
Thank you again for your help
Raymond.

Hi Raymond
There are a few posts around regarding the Bradshaw family on other forums. If you google "john gemmell" +"janet bradshaw" you will find a number of links. From what I could see, most are by people researching the Bradshaw family who have included Janet's details.

Hi Raymond
Are you based in Scotland? Regarding following up on the Gemmells through the 20thC, it is hard to do on line given the lack of records given how recent the events are. Too expensive to take chances on records when there are too many to look through or order also.
A good post here www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,369601.0.html from Jim that would be a perfect way for you to follow up your research.
Also, if you are near to Edinburgh or Glasgow, you could book in for a day at New Register House (Edinburgh) or the Strathclyde Genealogy Centre (previoulsy Park Circus in Glasgow). This would let you view 000's of BMDs (depending on how quick you are viewing!) on the day and make notes.

Hi again Monica, I have read your last thread and i think it would be best for me if i did back go to my local Reg/office for more info. I have been there before and it only cost £10 per hr. and the staff there were bril. Most of the info i have on my Grandfathers Family i got there. I stay in the Central Belt so its only an hr to travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow if i have to, my plan however is to visit Paisley in the near future and spend some time there and see for myself any records in the Library and church records etc.
Regards
Raymond.
