Malta - Tanti Family

Hi all....this is my first time, require some help in looking for my family history.
The Tanti family which l belong to lived in Msida Malta and moved to Australia in the mid 60s.
l'm finding it hard to go back in time, l can not seem to find any sites in Malta to help me out...
Can anyone help me to trace my family name...

The "Name in History" books are a well-known scam. As is, in general, anyone trying to sell you something that covers all persons of a certain surname, or provide "family crests", etc. Genuine "one-name studies" exist, but they tend not to charge you for a book, but instead provide/exchange information with other researchers.

Ray, you could try to get bmds from Malta from here:
https://secure2.gov.mt/certifikati/

http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/recordsearch/index.aspx
 - also if you search here for Tanti you can find some immigration records. There are several families listed; these records have not been digitised but you may be able to obtain copies from the archives.

There is also a photo of a Tanti family during immigration (not named, maybe you'll recognise somebody?)
