Have just checked the floppy disks for that burial and it aint there - so got to conclude some how or other it was missed.
Can you give me the complete entry please from your source so that I can add it.
Cheers

I wonder if John remarried an Ann - this looks very likely from the Sussex Marriage Index
Location: Brighton, East Sussex, Date: 31 Oct 1788: Groom: John HARGRAVES, widower Bride: Ann BRADFORD, spinster both of this parish by licence.

Hi Chris
Re the gravestone - I get the same error message, not sure why I'm banned from seeing these attachments
The Elizabeth Hargraves burial had no more info than I posted but I see you've found it anyway and more.

Thankyou to every one who has helped me. I now have several paths to follow. I did make a mistake with William Hammond - I did know he was a tanner. In a moment of aberration I got him confused with Isaac Hargraves. John Hargraves did marry Ann Bradford and had family: Isaac 1790-1856 Ann Bradford 1791 - 1854 Hezekiah 1794-1796 Hezekiah 1798 - 1820 Eleanor Frances 1796 - 1836 William Nathanial 1798 - 1849 Stuart 1803 - 1813 Joseph Nathanial 1810 -1810. It is possible that Ann had twins in 1797 who died soon after birth and I will add the query about two Annes into my database. I think that there would have to have been children born between 1747 and 1757 when William arrives. Perhaps William Snr was working elsewhere in that 10 years. I will have to go and recheck all this. Similarly I will find the source for Elizabeth Hammond Hargraves' burial in her father's vault and let you know. I unfortunately was not able to open the map you sent. I tried on both google chrome and firefox but to no avail - rootschat was adamant that I was not allowed to open it. I did not know that William married again. Ann Hood Hammond was buried 30 Oct 1766 at Waldron All Saints so that is a lead for me to follow. It is very frustrating being in Queensland Australia and not being able to go and look at local sources so I really appreciate your help. Elizabeth Hammond was the grandmother of Edward Hammond Hargraves, the discoverer of gold in Australia.

Hi All
Am going to post the Lewes map of 1799 showing the Tan yard and the old church which was East/West as against the new church which is North/South on to the general Sussex Board under Hammond and Hargraves - you should be able to open it there

Hi Julia
I agree that it is highly unlikely that William 1757 was their first child - the Rodmell baptisms posted by IanC do look good for filling the gap a bit.
