Which Cemetery?
« on: Tuesday 23 June 09 11:22 UTC (UK) »

Hi All,
I hope someone can point me in the right direction to find which cemetery my Great Aunt Jane Bateman is buried in. She died 13 November 1930 aged 31 years, at Northern Infirmary Inverness. her address at the time (from the death certificate) was The Lodge, Tarradale.
Kind Regards
Jeanne

Hi Beannie

The main cemetery for Inverness is the Tomnahurich cemetery. The records are held at the Inverness Crematorium. The telephone number there is 01463 717849. There is also the Highland Council Genealogy Service if you have no luck at the crematorium. They can be contacted on 01463 220330 ext 9, or e-mail to genealogy@highland.gov.uk

Hope you get what you require.

Hi dex and Big-toshie,
I emailed Fiona Morrison yesterday and got a very quick reply. She has very kindly sent me the details of where my Great Aunt is buried in Tomnahurich cemetery. There is no memorial stone though, which is sad, she was only 31 when she died and came from Drummore, Wigtownshire. Maybe I'll get up there one day and lay some flowers. Thank you both for all your help.
Kind Regards
Beannie
