You are most welcome. Do you have a copy of Richard and Harriet's marriage certificate? If not I think I may have found the GRO reference number relating to their marriage.
Will look for other census information now and post what information I find.

Amanda,
Finally found them in 1851.
Causeway Street, Warley, Yorkshire
Joseph Layfield Head Mar 45 Carpet Weaver Born Burnley, Lancashire Martha Layfield Wife Mar 50 Born Skircoat, Yorkshire Richard Layfield Son Mar 22 Cotton Weaver Born Skircoat, Yorkshire Harriet Layfield Dau in Law Mar 22 Cotton Weaver Born Skircoat, Yorkshire Mary Layfield Dau 17 Cotton Weaver Born Skircoat, Yorkshire Delia Layfield Dau 15 Cotton Weaver Born Skircoat, Yorkshire James Layfield Son 12 Cotton Weaver Born Skircoat, Yorkshire Joseph Layfield Son 6 Scholar Born Skircoat, Yorkshire
Martha's name as actually been mistranscribed as Matthew. Looking at the original, although the writing is feint, I am sure that the name reads Martha. I will try and find them in 1841 to confirm this.

Amanda,
Here is the family in 1841.
Bairstow/Bairston Dam Head, Township of Skircoat, Parish of Halifax
Joseph Layfield 35 ? Cotton Martha Layfield 40 John Layfield 15 Mechanic App? Richd Layfield 12 Robt Layfield 10 Mary Layfield 8 Delia Layfield 5 James Layfield 3 Richd Layfield 50
All with the exception of Joseph and Richd senior were born in the county of Yorkshire. Sorry for all the question marks, but the original image is very feint.

Amanda,
Here are some of the family in 1871.
Denholm, Luddendenfoot, Warley
John H Shackleton Head Mar 29 Clerk at Worsted Factory Born Halifax, Yorks Hariett Shackleton Wife Mar 36 Born Warley, Yorks Mary E Layfield Step Dau 19 Cotton Winder Born Warley, Yorks Fred Layfield Step Son 14 Worsted Yarm Maker Up Born Warley, Yorks Armelend Shackleton Dau 5 Scholar Born Warley, Yorks Joe H Shackleton Son 4 Scholar Born Warley, Yorks Edith B Shackleton Dau 8m Born Warley, Yorks
I have taken a look at the births in 1865 in Halifax which may relate to their daugher. I found the birth of an Annelena Shackleton registered in Halifax in 1865, so wonder whether this could be the correct spelling of her name.
If once you have had time to look at the information, there are still look ups which you would like, just post the details and I will take a look for you.
I hope that this information is of use to you.
Best Wishes CJL
