When they spent forever sewing the Bayeux Tapestry, they never imagined that a video camera could have captured the occasion more completely, and in a fraction of the time.

I wonder what invention will come along, in future centuries, which will enable a complete family tree to be put together at the press of a button, and they will think of all of us spending years toiling away at the same.

Isn't it lucky it's fun to do?

I wish I had a photo of one of my 5 x ggrandfathers who was a coastguard in Lands End Cornwall - wouldnt it be lovely to finally put a face to all the research I've been doing!!! So if I.D cards do come into operation for us all at least our ancestors will have a picture!!
