Blackmere 1835-1841 PARLOUR
« on: Friday 03 July 09 11:25 UTC (UK) »

Does anyone have any information about Blackmere/Blackmere births, marriages and deaths for approx 1835-1841 please....

I am particularly interested in Emma/Emily Alice Parlour and what became of parents James and Ann.

Any help would be very much appreciated as I have really hit a brick wall on this one. Thanks. Huh

Hi there I've just had a look and can only find any sign of Emma/Emily Alice Parlour being born in Bishopstone Herefordshire. There is part of a family tree on Ancestry with her on it.I've studied Blakemere records quite a lot as my Herefordshire relatives come from there and the name doesn't jump out at me.What info do you have that places them in Blakemere? There are some at Weobley as well that seem to be related to the Bishopstone ones. Will have another look around.Heather.

Hi Heather..Thanks so much for your interest. I really appreciate it.

Yes, the tree on ancestry is mine..and Emma/Emily A is a true puzzle.

I believe her siblings to be the Parlours in the 1941 census who are living with the Williams family in Bishopstone, but there is no trace of the parents James and Ann.

Her place of birth in the censuses has varied over the years including Bishopstone, Dilwyn,Hereford Town and in the 1911 census somewhere that could be Blackmere/Blackmurrel/Blackmussel.

There is a definite link with Edward Vaughn of Bitterly, Shropshire and my theory is that Emma is on the 1841 census as his daughter Emma Vaughn.

I wonder if Edward Vaughn's wife was Ann Parlour..... but I cannot prove any of this. Huh

It seems an impossible nut to crack.
