Thank you one and all for confirmation of the name Hart.

gene-genie you mention the name following Mary, it's Kirby the surname of my greatgrandmother.  I am hoping the Mary in question is my greatgrandmothers mother, but it could be a sister or sister-in-law.

Thanks again everybody.

Of course it is - see it now.

You didn't say when or where wedding took place, maybe we can help sort out the witnesses.

Hi Ray,

Just a thought - do you have a wedding cert for your grt-grt grandmother Mary Kirby?  Did she sign the register or use 'her mark'?  If it was by mark witness in 1865  must be sister or sister-in-law.  Do you know the connection between Henry Hart and your family?

Hi Gene

No don't have anything on Mary Kirby.  If Mary is my GG Grandmother she was married in Ireland 1842 or earlier.  My initial investigation, with the help of a  very knowledable Irish contact that I have made through rootschat, shows that its likely to be a long road to confirm her.  No idea of the connection with a Henry Hart, have had a look through 1881 census (not 1871 yet), and freebmd (marriages) but no obvious connection, probably just a friend.
