« on: Friday 03 July 09 21:46 UTC (UK) »

Hi  Just found out my great gran was  illigitimate  **Oh AHH**

She was born some time in Denbigh april 1853/4.

I have a  date for BAPT  I found many years ago 14th April 1853
Elizabeth Roberts Child of  Sarah and Thomas Roberts Baseborn.
Mount Pleasant  Denbigh .......
I followed them years ago  and I know they didn't marry each other,
but the notebook I had it in was torn up by a grand child.(its still alive )

Is there anyone going to HAWARDEN records office  please  who could have a look for his Sarah Roberts
and her child Elizabeth ?
The dates above are deff and from the Denbigh Registers .
I recently had a Triple bypass and can't  go and sit  just yet  so would be very grateful  for help .
I believe this Sarah Married a Hughes,
and went to live in Connahs Quay  some time after  the birth if Elizabeth  this is only a quess but  worh a look or has anyone a relation in anyway to a Stephen Hughes oF Connahs Q and links back to Denbigh ?

Is it a marriage you are searching for mildredmartha? Smiley Do you also need census look ups?
Did the baptism register give both mother's and father's surnames as Roberts? I am sooo easily confused Huh

Hi Marion  and thanks .
Yes both were Roberts Sarah.Roberts  and .......Thomas Roberts ......... as Parents  of Elizabeth  Roberts 14th April 1853 but  unmarried. I'm sure they never ever did Marry  .
What ever made them have sex in those days Smiley
what I wrote is all I know about it ....o ask .....
these Roberts  might not even been mine but I thought it worth a look   or to ask .
Elizabeth their daughter  married an Abbott in Holywell and its taken till now for me to track the marriage down  8th Dec 1872. and then the Name came OuT as HERBERT !!
dint you just love our greats?

Eliz Roberts son Thomas Abbott married  Sophia Evans 1911 then *married again in Canada* but he
forgot to tell his poor wife in Rhyl  He wanted a divorce!
I think he thought the  milage wouldn't find him out!
But he died young in Ontario  His then wife  told the Hospital  that his mum was a Hughes... And thats whats on the death cert 1934
so i think  his Grannie must have been a Hughes when he knew her,
so he thought his mum was one.
Thats all I know about  it so I am Fishing really.
Thanks again Mm
