Missing English/British Resources Forums?
« on: Saturday 04 July 09 12:09 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

I was thinking of posting a link to a project called the British Isles DNA Project

 http://www.britishislesdna.com/

in the British or English Resources Forums. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a forum for either and yet there are forums for Irish, Scottish and Welsh Resources! Why is this? It doesn't make sense. Is there less information on British or English genealogy than for Irish/Welsh/Scottish genealogy or have I missed them?

Perhaps the Useful Links board may be best?

There are resources sections for each county in England.  This allows for very focused links e.g. to parish register transcriptions, links to county BMD projects, local history sites, local newspaper archives, family history societies, old maps, old photographs, cemetery records, memorial inscriptions, but always with the specific county in mind.

Same goes for Wales, Ireland and Scotland..

Is it possible to get new forums added onto Rootschat?

Resources are not without limits!  Wink

There have been some changes since its inception, mostly providing separate areas for the photo restorations, armed forces and deciphering help.  But essentially the current structure is the same as when it started.  It's worked OK so far and at the moment, there are no plans by admin to add any further boards.
