I have a tree on  Genes and want to transfer it to a different site. My question is how can I do this without re entering all the information.

You can do it by going to Genes homepage here:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/?wci=loadGedcom

And click on the export button, the gedcom file will be sent to your email address. You can them upload the gedcom at the other site.
