Hi

Unfortunately there were no marriage certificates at that time - only entries in parish registers.  The even worse news is that fathers names were not shown until after 1.7.1837 when Civil Registration was introduced

How old was he on the death cert as that would at least give a rough idea of his birthyear

Hi

Is that their son Robert in Richmond Union Workhouse in 1841?

I honestly don't know how you will get any info on Fred as his birthplace is unknown.

Venables was not a particularly common surname at that time but there is nothing on the IGI/BVRI/Pallots

Hi jasper2

St Mary Magdalene Richmond burials

11th August 1816
Anne Venables aged 55 (may or may not have a connection)

2nd September 1825
John Venables aged 3

12th May 1828
Ann Venables infant

31st August 1838
Harriet Venables aged 36

30th November 1840
Frederick Venables aged 40

The 1819 marriage would make Harriet only about 17 at the time and Frederick 19. If they admitted their ages, they were both under the age of consent, so you might expect in the marriage banns book information about who gave them permission to marry. If the banns book for Teddington has survived it will be held at the London Metropolitan Archives. The marriage register itself may give further clues with the names of the witnesses.

Regards
