albert j coley married elizabeth forster in newcastle upon tyne in 1920 other than this I have no other information on albert j coley other than he was a marriner and I believe was born abroad possibly south africa can anyone help?

The best start would be to buy a copy of the marriage cert as this will give his age and his fathers name and occupation

Where did the info come from that he was possibly born in SA (or elsewhere)

I have got the marriage cert and father stated as John Coley deceased Dep Commissioner south africa mounted police this is why I am assuming that Albert J Coley was born in South Africa because cannot find him on any bdm

Do you know an approximate age for Albert?
What names witnessed; all these things may knit the story together.

I'd suggest checking the "london Gazette" for his father's appointment as a starting point.
Not sure what the date coverage is online
