Eleanor Williams was born about 1843 in Portmadoc. Her mother, Ann, was born in Carnavon in 1814. Ann married John Williams, who was born in Liverpool and was a warehouseman. They had a daughter Jane, born in Liverpool in 1939, and then had Eleanor in Portmadoc in 1843. They then had a son, John, born in Liverpool in 1851.
Eleanor married Robert Lee Moore on 12/22/1867 at Church of St. Peter in Burnley, England.
I am trying to find out Eleanor's mother's maiden name and family history. If you can help, I would appreciate it.

On the English census in 1851, Eleanor is listed as the daughter of John and Ann Williams. Ann was born in Cornuevon, and Eleanor was listed as born in Portmadoc in 1843 (she was listed on the census as being 8 years old on the 1851 census and 18 years old on the 1861 census.
I am planning to go to Portmadoc this week. Can I look at these 4 births? Where would I go?
Thanks for the information lead.... Lucy

Hi
You cannot lookup births found on freebmd. The references on freebmd are only applicable to the GRO at Southport - not to local registry offices who have their own unique reference. The censuses were taken as follows:
1851 - 30th March 1861 - 7th April
If she was 8yrs by the 30th March 1851 she could have been born between 31st March 1842 and 29th March 1843 which cuts it down to 2 possibles
Births December qtr 1842 WILLIAMS Eleanor Pwllheli 27 349 Births March qtr 1843 Williams Eleanor Pwllheli 27 381

CaroleW., Thank you so much. I am going there this week, and I will try to find out which one it is, and what her mother's maiden name was, so I can trace her ancestry.
