Can anybody help with Woodrow Kelly? Please
« on: Monday 06 July 09 16:59 UTC (UK) »

Hello
I wonder if anybody can help me with this. I am trying to find any information on my grandfather. His name is Woodrow Dale Kelly he was born in Pennsylvania 1902. His father was Elmer Kelly. Woodrow got married to my grandmother c1930 Woodrow was 26 & my grandmother Nellie Irene Johnson who was born in c1914 was 16 when they married. They had a son in 1936 and Woodrow & Nellie parted company around about 1940. It is after this I can’t find any trace of Woodrow and wondered if anybody could help me. Somebody did say that he died in the late 70s or early 80s, in Pennsylvania, though I am not sure of this as I can’t find anything to support it. I just would like to know what happened to Woodrow and any other information I can find for him.

I know my Grandmother (Nellie) met and married a man called Raymond Kramer and they both died, Nellie in c1979 & Raymond c1980, in New Jersey but I don’t know where about in New Jersey they lived or are resting.

If anybody can help me with any info on Woodrow Dale Kelly I would be grateful.

Also if anybody has any information on Nellie Irene Johnson who married Woodrow D Kelly and became Nellie Irene Kelly and then later Nellie Irene Kramer or Krammer that would be very welcomed too. You can PM if you like too.

Thank you for your time

Hi Shellyesq
I have looked at that thread and it's one i put up asking about Nelly Irene Johnson. People on this site had been very kind and helped me find some infomation on Nelly, and even found me a relation to Nelly. It seems that person does not know very much about Woodrow but did know things about Nellie, so i thought i would ask for help once again. Thank you for trying to help by showing me the link.

I mentioned that thread so people trying to help could see what was already discussed & found before, to avoid any duplication of effort.

Hi if anybody can help with this i'm still looking for any info on Woodrow Dale Kelly born c1902 in the Pennsylvania area. I know his father was called Elmer Kelly. I would like to know anything i could learn about Woodrow... where did he live? What happened to him after about 1940 the time he left my GGranmother Nellie Irene Johnson. Where did he die and where is he laid to rest? Did he have other children? Please help if you think you can.

Sometimes it helps to backtrack a little.  Have you found Woodrow on the 1910 or 1920 census?  If you have not seen Woodrow on prior census returns, how do you know Elmer is his father's name?  Do you know where Elmer is buried?  (Sometimes families are buried in the same cemetery, especially if they have lived in one area for a "long time".)

I tried to find Woodrow and do not see him on a census prior to 1930.

I realize you are interested in Woodrow, but do you need any research for Elmer (providing he can be found, of course)?

Hi Lisa
Thank you for the PM you sent. I'm not sure it's the same Woodrow Kelly. I have sent you a PM. I hope it helps clear things up a little more.

Thank you for your help

Hi Hero:

I noticed the differences between your Woodrow and their's, but there were so many similarities that I thought I would send the information.

I could find nothing re your Woodrow.  However, I will reread your pm and see if there might be more clues in it.  Keeping my fingers crossed that I might find something useful.
