Hi Tiger110 and welcome to rootschat Cheesy

It's a bit hard to help as you don't say if you know about the six children or you know just that they existed.  So assuming the latter is the case, you can find  dates etc on freebmd site for  Thomas and Mary's marriage and for the children's birth- that would give you some dates and places.
The other way to come at this is thru census entries- do you have 1851 census for Thomas?  Was he married by then?
Let us know a bit more about what it is exactly that you seek.

Hello Charlotte,
thank you for your reply. one of the problems of old age is that you know what you want to say but forget to say it.
I have been researching my family background since 1947 , one of the blank areas is the military service of thomas barnes, he is described is many documents as :- ,coal merchants clerk, legal clerk, solicitor, accountant, and army pensioner this is the area I can find no information not even at Kew. I was hoping that maybe a living relative might see the insert who might have more information than me

Hi again Tiger, If you are chasing a living relative you could look in RC Surnames Board to see who is there... at the top of this page, 4th button from left is Surnames- this is the link.  Check out the names there and add your interests.
Hope you make a contact Cheesy
