Can you help? Looking for Index details to order John TODD Birth Certificate. He was born 8/06/1892 or 1893, in Glynn, near Larne, Antrim. His father and mother were James and Sarah Jane Todd.

Are you sure of the 1892/93. On the Record Search Pilot site on www.familysearch.org I can find two John Todds registered in Larne but they are 1891.

There is a match on 'Irish History Foundation' site for a John Todd 1894 civil registration, with father named James.
Available to view - cost about 5 euros

Hello kingskerswell and lucy,

After checking various documents, I now believe that John TODD's Birth date is 8th June 1891.
He married a much younger woman and may have used some creative accounting.
His CR10 Card, which was an identity certificate issued to merchant seamen during WWI, has his date of birth as 08/06/1891.
I shall try to find him on the family search.org site, and keep you posted as to how I get on.

Kingskerswell is a familiar name, one of my ancestors was born there in 1862, his name was Thomas Samuel Skinner.

If the birthdate of 8 June 1891 is corrected then only one in the Index to civil registrations is possible-

By entering slightly different information on the Pilot Search i.e. name , event and date I have come up with a third date. In addition to the two Aghadowey found I also found Apr-Jun 1891, Vol 1 Page 611. I am a bit confused by the page number.
Kingskerswell- My wife's ancestral home.

Hello, aghadowey and kingskerswell,
I have just licked the envelope and put a stamp, on the postal application for a Birth certificate.
I'd not seen the entry for the September 1981, and have requested Larne Vol.1 Page 611.
Fingers crossed, will let you know in a week or so's time.

I now have the correct birth certificate for my grandfather. He was born 6 June 1891. Onward and upward.
