Hi Podgypipes

Not sure what you are trying to find specifically. Is it Hugh Craig's family details? Did he and Isabella marry in Scotland or England?

There is one possible entry in the 1901 census for Hugh but not sure if you have this already.

hi Monica, apparently both Hugh and Isabella both died in 1934.the boys were born in may 1917 their names were William he joined the vet's corps and we think the other boy was called James or Jimmy Hugh and Isabella married in Edinborough on 25 Dec 1914 It is James we don't know about .It seems he and William split up after their parents death .thanks for your help p/pipes

Quite a hard period to research in due to lack of on line records. Hopefully someone may recognise the names and be able to confirm further. Do you have Isabella's maiden name as this would help in identifying the family on searches.

hello Monica. Isabella's maiden name was Lawson. Is there any way to find out how they died. It seems a bit strange for the to pass away the same year thanks p/pipes

If they died in Scotland around that time, you should be able to view their death certificates on line at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, the official pay to view site for BMD/census images. Charges are reasonable.

I just went on to check for Isabella's death just from general searches but the site seems to be down at present. It is easier to search for married women as you can search with both married/maiden names which can help narrow down the results.

Scotlands People (SP) now have extended birth indexes that you can search on but you can only view images on line for births up to 1908, anything after that you would have to order.

Have a look at this post from Dave, the SP units might come in handy  Smiley www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,353206.0.html

You can register for free on SP which lets you do general searches, you then have to buy units to view the search results and view the original image.
