Hi,
Am looking for my Salmon ancestors. I believe my gggrandfather's family came from Padbury in Bucks. His brother, George, is in the 1871 Ashford, Kent census as;
George Salmon 53 b. Padbury, Bucks. and his wife is Martha Salmon, 52 b. Padbury, Bucks. They had two children also born in Padbury - Thomas, 25 and Sarah, 23.
It would be great to go further back and possibly trace my ggggrandfather/mother. My gggrandfather himself, Francis, (50) is in the Ashford census 1871 as being born in Bast, Bucks, but I can't find out where that was.
Any help gratefully received!

Just in case you hadn't seen it. These are on the IGI, looks like children of Mark Salmons and Elizabeth, looks like you might have both George and Francis here.

Thankyou, Frances, and thanks again, Jonathan, for your help. Looks like Francis was married and had children in Padbury before he remarried and moved to Ashford, which I didn't know about. Found some of the Salmons of Padbury in the IGI, but not all - so, thankyou!

Hi Frosty, 
I am new at this so bear with me please.
I don't know if this is related to your Salmon family in Padbury, but on mine Bull line I have a William Bull born abt 1806 in Padbury married to a Elizabeth Salomns born abt 1811 in Thornborough, Buckinghamshire. Under my notes regarding marriage I have
Banns were read on 29th Sep, 6th and 13th Oct 1833 both of Padbury.
Witnesses were Mary Bull who didn't sign and a John Reynolds who did sign. Neither William nor Elizabeth signed.

I will let you know if I come across any more Salmons in my research.
I have Elizabeth Salmons parents listed as John Salmons, Christened Sept 30, 1785 in Padbury and Elizabeth no maiden name.
I also have John Salmons parents as Thomas Salmons and Mary Tompkyns married Sept 22, 1776 in Padbury.
I hope that gives you some help.
