Hi every one.
can anyone help me find the death entry for a JANE ANN JEFFERY,nee FOLLINGTON.She was born in Hailsham,sussex in 1846 and was still alive on the 1901 census with her father Spencer follington in upper dicker,sussex but i cannot find her death entry so any help would be great.thanks.

Have you found her on the 1911 census as this might help to narrow down her death ie either before or after 1911?

Hi Jan.
no i haven't as i don't have access to it yet ans she did tend to move about a bit .Her father died by 1903 so where she went after that i don't know.

{Duplicate post - 1911 Census tried}

Youngest daughter Victoria married in 1908 and is in Uckfield in 1911.
In FreeBMD is a death entry for Jane M JEFFERY age 33 registered in Uckfield.   It's keyed only once and there is no associated image posted up.... I wonder if it could be a mistranscription and could be your Jane.

Other than that, have you looked for all  her children in 1911 to ensure she is not with any one of them, particulary any that may have moved out of Sussex? Other than that there is a Mar Qtr 1924 death in Farnham of a Jane JEFFREY age 74 (and I note that on her marriage index entry in 1878 Rye her name is just Jane FOLLINGTON to John JEFFERY - middle initial is not used).

I noted that her husband John and 3 children are in the Hailsham Workhouse in 1891. And I think, Jane was there in 1871 prior to her 1878 .

hi Ambly,
She had 3 children prior to her marriage.The first 2 were born [1868 and 1871 or there abouts]in the union workhouse in hellingly.Who their father's were no one know's.It seem's the family had quite an association with the workhouse.She was born in 1846 and baptised in 1847.when  she was baptised her family were in the workhouse but it is not mentioned on her birth certificate for the previous year.When her husband and 3 children were in the hellingly workhouse she was living in church street ,ore,with 6  of her children.The eldest child of her's was my husbands grt grandfather James Follington.church street was very near the Hastings workhouse  and wondered if it was owned by it.
Can you please tell me who victoria married.I know she was living with her mother's younger sister Emma on the 1901 census in kent.

(the other pair on the page are the Minnie WEST and the happily unique William George SETTATREE - this couple are on the 1911 Census together).

Enter > Personal Details - Last Name: THORPE (exact)
Enter > Location - County/Other:  SUSSEX (and wait a mo for it to refresh &  'load up' the county)
Enter > Location - District/Other: Uckfield
Enter > Other Members of the Household - First Name: VICTORIA JANE (exact)
Enter > Other Members of the Household - Last Name: THORPE (exact)
CLICK: SEARCH
Result : her husband (age 33)

Change
Enter > Other Members of the Household - First Name: ERNEST GEORGE
Result: her (age 23 b abt 1888
