PARKERS - Cadmore End, Lane End
« on: Monday 13 July 09 19:14 UTC (UK) »

Hi

the school holidays are nearly here.  I've set no homeowrk this week so I am finally free to get back onto my tree!

Would you be able to see if there are any records for Parkers.  I have some for Ernest parker, Frederick Ernest parker and Thomas Parker.

Also - do you have any idea where Chequers cottage in Stokenchurch is?

Thanks

selena

Thanks

Hi Selena,

How about this baptism for Thomas at Stokenchurch?
Jun 25 1837 Thomas son of Philip & Sarah PARKER of Stokenchurch, Labourer

It looks like this is Philip's burial at Stokenchurch:
Philip PARKER of Stokenchurch Jul 23 1848 aged 63

And Sarah's...?
Sarah PARKER of Water End, Stokenchurch Aug 30 1873 aged 73

Cadmore End Parish Registers can be bought from the Buckinghamshire FHS.

~~

If this is your Family, Philip and Sarah had also (baptism at Stokenchurch Date):
Mar 7 1812 Sarah (dau of Philip & JANE?)
Sep 24 1815 George (son of Philip & JANE?)
May 24 1818 Alexander (son of Philip & JANE?)
Jun 9 1822 Ann (dau of Philip & JANE?)
Nov 28 1824 Ephrium (son of Philip& JANE?)
Oct 5 1828 Sophia
Jul 31 1831 Eliza
Jul 21 1833 Hannah
Oct 21 1839 Jane bur 9 Jun 1830?

so I checked marriages at Stokenchurch...
4 Dec 1808
Philip Parker Bachelor
Jane Biggs Spinster

and cannot find marriage of Philip to Sarah.

I am not sure about Philip and Jane...

Matt

Thanks Matt.

Can i buy the Stockenchurch parish records from Bucksfhs or would that come under Oxon as the boundary seems to change on census records.

I hope to be in that area in a couple of weeks time to check out old residences and grave yards.

Aha- Philip's marriage to Sarah at Radnage...

24 Aug 1828 Philip PARKER and Sarah COLLINS

Taken from the IGI. Does this look like the right one? The church that stood before St Mary-le-Moor at Cadmore End was the 12th Century St Mary's Chapel of 'Ackhampstead', the name of the detatched part of Oxfordshire and where Cadmore End stood. The register of baptisms is held at the Buckinghamshire Record Office at Aylesbury, and it begun in 1786.

~~

The Stokenchurch Parish Registers can be bought from the Oxfordshire Family History Society for £17.50. Here is the link
http://www.ofhs.org.uk/CDsales.html#prs

The disc is called OXF-SO03 SOUTH OXFORDSHIRE and includes parish registers for Britwell Salome; Fingest, Harpsden; Ibstone; Ipsden; Kidmore End; Mapledurham, Nettlebed; South Stoke; Pishill; Pyrton; Stokenchurch.

Alternatively, I could offer you lookups instead but I realise it might be more desirable if you had them yourself.

The Bucks FHS Link for the Cadmore End Registers is here...

Link shrunk as it was distorting thread.  http://www.rootschat.com/links/index.php

Thank you yet again Matt, you have been an absolute diamond in helping me out, I really appreciate it.  I have managed to buy parish records cd for Cadmore End etc.  They were posted yesterday so I am hoping Mr Postman brings them today!!  I will buy the Stokenchurch ones for definite as I think the Parkers are mainly from there although the latest Parkers are buried at St Mary le Moor. (We pop up a couple of times a year to tend the graves).

A huge thank you for your help.

Selena,

At Stokenchurch and Fingest on the Oxfordshire disc there are tons of Druce's in the family we have already discussed - I have sent you the ones from Lane End.
