New info from 1911 census in northumberland England gives my G.Grandfather place of birth as Cookstown
James Rafferty and his brother William Rafferty are living together in Hexham Northumberland in 1861
James is a single man c 1843 a general laborer he married Sarah Shaw in Hexham 1861 she was born Haltwhistle the daughter of Francis Shaw also from Ireland The first daughter Called Ellen
William Rafferty c 1833 was already married to a Catherine they had a daughter Ellen born Ireland 1850 son John born 1855
based on the names of the children of both brothers I would say there is a good chance their mother Was called Ellen their religion was R.C.
