I am looking for any info other than marriage details of above names. I know they were married in 1860 in ballymena but i cant find their births or any other record of them. I was told ellen jane was married twice and she went on to marry a james conkey but cant find any info on that either. Any help would be much appreciated...thanx

Civil registration of births in Ireland only started in 1864 so there will be no birth certificates for either Ellen Jane or James.

If you are looking for birthdates and/or names of parents for pre-registration period you need to search for church records, if they exist, but to do so you need to know the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland). Telford is far less common a surname than McMullen (which might have been written as McMullan, McMillan, McMillen, Mullan, Mullen, etc.) but it will be difficult to search for either without a fairly exact location. Since you hae the marriage certificate it would be wise to start checking first for Telfords in the townland that's listed as Ellen Jane's residence in 1860.

Not sure where you have been searching but if you read my post I've explained there will be no birth certificate for Ellen Jane so your next step is church records (if they exist). Your 1st record of Ellen Jane seems to be her marriage- what is the exact place listed as her residence? and exactly where did he marriage take place (church name or registry office)?

james mcmillan born 8th sept 1829 in millquarter, antrim, who I found on lds site His parents where mary brady and john mcmillan but I dont have birth or marriage details for them but would like them if anyone could find them. James mcmillan married ellen jane telford on 19 november 1860 in ballymena I am told. They later moved to scotland and ellen jane telford remarried after james died. All help would be appreciated. Thanx I assume ellen jane telford was born in ballymena but not sure so how do i find parish records then. I do apologise for duplicatin my search but I am tryin to post on many various sites to get any info possible

Duplicate posts cause needless confusion and extra work for those trying to help. If for some reason you do need to post in more than one place (usually only applies if query involves more than one county or country) then placing a link on each thread to the other topic will let everyone know what's going on. Here's a link to your other thread- www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,401917.msg2712180.html#msg2712180
'Ballymena' can refere to the town of Ballymena or the area around it. To find church records you need to know both the family's religion and where they lived, then search for any surviving church records to see if they cover the period you need. 'Parish' in Ireland refer to Church of Ireland or Roman Catholic records, Presbyterian churches are arranged into Presbyteries, Methodists into Circuits, etc.
