Exchange Hotel Middlesbrough

Hi All
This may be a long shot but the people on this site are amazing so here goes.
I'm trying to find any information about the Exchange Hotel on Commercial Street St Hilda's area of Middlesbrough i'm researching my family history (with a great deal of people on this site) and one of my ancestors ( William Whittaker ) was landlord of this Hotel in 1841 if anyone has any information however small that information is i would love to hear it

The Exchange Hotel, a substantial edifice in the Grecian style, had already been built, at a cost of £4,500, afterwards used as the Police Court, etc., at the corner of North Street and Commercial Street, where a splendid cold collation was provided.

I assume that as you live in Middlesbrough you have been into the Archives office in Marton Road?    Don't they have a lot about the Exchange Hotel?
