Chatters,

The 1756 BT's of Chipping Sodbury give the wedding details, "March 28 Lazarus Higgs and Mary Harding both of this parish by Banns".

An LDS member submitted Mary's birth year as, "About 1735 Of Chipping Sadbury, , Gloucester, England" which is a guess made from her marriage - 1756 minus 21 - LDS standard guess for females. I checked the 1735 BT's very carefully and found no such baptism.

Similarly an LDS member submitted Lazarus' birth year 1756 minus 25, this might be correct but see below.

To no avail I searched the BT's on the LDS film number 427775 and found the following years missing :- 1728: 29: 30: 31: 33 and 1734, so there's a good chance that both were indeed baptized in Chip' Sod' but Mary was over 21 at her marriage to Lazarus aged betwee 22 and 28. The missing years can be verified easily using the HW site.

So my query concerns the availability of the PR's for the missing years above. Please does anybody know if they are held at the Gloster RO?

I think they are at Gloucester. I haven't seen them at BRO.

Have you also looked at Dodington records and Yate?

Thanks for taking the time to reply but I expect the Chip' Sod' church registers to be at the Gloster R.O.. It's the particular Bishop's transcripts' missing years I mentioned that I'm hoping somebody can let me know about or say how I can find out.

Regarding the other places you mentioned, I have so far had no reason to check their records.

I mentioned Yate & Dodington because they are adjacent parishes. Also Old Sodbury.
