I have located my ancestor on the 1901 census. His name, Thomas Harrison aged 26 born Gainsborough, Lincs. His wife was Florence, also 26 born in Birmingham. Her mother was Mary Ryland aged 52 born in Worcester. Their address was 60 Green Street, Bristol and Thomas' occupation was 'publican'. I have found a pub - the New Found Out at this address -but it doesn't mention the pub's name on the census. The trouble is, I can't find any of them on the 1911 census. I have tried varying names and spellings and also looked at deaths but haven't found anything.
Please can anyone help?

Thanks - apparently it used to be The Builders Arms. On one site, I actually found the publican as Thomas Harrison in 1901, but on another it shows a lady - very confusing. I wonder if there is another Green Street in Bristol.

I tried again just putting the names and the area they were thought to be living, Bristol and came up with these
There is a Mary Ryland aged 61 birth year 1850 living in Bristol which could be his mother, according to the 1901 she was born 1848/9
Also a Thomas Harrison aged 35 birth year 1876 living in Bristol. according to the 1901 he was born 1874/5 so maybe him.
Also a Florence Kate Harrison, (do you know if she had a middle name)birth year 1878 living in Bristol.
The problem is Harrison is a very common name, so they may not be yours but I think the Mary Ryland is a link you should check out with a few credits.

Thanks Patrish Just shows what someone-elses search can do. Of course I was looking for Thomas Harrison born in Gainsboro - not Gamsboro, and for Mary Ryland born in Worcester as all previous census showed.
More mistranscriptions!
So now I know they were at the Duke of Sussex in 1911. Does anyone have any information about this pub (not the Old Pubs site)

From past experience with the 1911 census I think you get better results the less information you give it seems
Glad to have helped.
