The Feery Family

Hello All,    My name is Michael Feery 51 years young, Searching for information on my family history from Ireland to the US. I have the track of information from about 1881 when my great grandfather came to america but not from where. His name was also Michael J Feery. The reason I am looking here in Westmeath is because in some of my grandfathers belongings I found a prayer card with the name Lawrence Feery on it. The card also said interred at Rahugh which I believe is a Parish in Westmeath. The card also said Montrath on it. Any help would be great.  Also His wifes name was Helena M Corcoran but I am not sure if they met in the US or Ireland. He was born about 1856 and she was born about 1864. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again, Michael

Hello Micheal & welcome to RC,I think your Michael maybe from the area of Kilbeggan,I notice on the IFHF site (Irish family history foundation) they have a Micheal listed as born 1856 also there is a Laurence for 1831 & 1840 maybe a brother or cousin --now this site charge 5 euro to view ( & be warned sometimes it can be a bit of a hit or miss)But what I have found interesting is list in Griffiths Valuation there are only 17 Feery listed for Westmeath all under the parish of Rahugh & most of them are from either Garryduff or Montrath---also list is a Lawrence  Feery Garryduff Rahugh. I should tell you Rahugh/Kilbeggan are all in the same area .Hopefully Michael you may get a lead from this---if I find out anymore info will get back to you --regards Nipy
