Could someone look up for me please

George Storey/Story & Rosanna (wife)
Children
Sarah c1851
Frances c 1853
John c 1856
Mary c1859
Thomas 1860

George married Rosanna Loggan c 1848 & their daughter Jane was born 2.11.1848
Thomas's mother is down as Rosanna McKaye but I can't find another marriage for George.  Can anyone help me please?

In 1871 they are in Crow Row, Birtley.  Piece 4993 F4
George 47 Stone mason b Ireland
Rosanna 45 b Preston Lancs
John 15 Mason Apprentice b Chester le St
Mary 12                                    "
Thomas 10 b Pelton
Rosanna 8       "
George 1 b Birtley
If you find them in an earlier census them you can see if Rosanna's age and place of birth tally.   It may be an error.

PS they are not in Chester le St in 1851 - more likely to be Pelton as Thomas was born there

Hi Mary

Freebmd has a marriage for George Story and Rose Ann Loggon in the December Quarter of 1848 at Chester le Street.  Jane's birth must have been very close, or even might have predated, their marriage.

do you mean you have a birth certificate for Thomas?

It could be the case that Rosanna was married before, and on this certificate is using her maiden name whereas on the marriage cert to George she might have used a former name - or vice versa.

Rosannah STOREY, Daur, Single, 18, ? Apprentice

Thomas & Rosannah both born Pelton

There's quite a few miles between Preston Lancs and Halifax Yorkshire!
