Hi,
Could anyone help me find out about Sarah Leeson nee Tallett?
She was born c. 1835 in Newnham and married William Leeson sometime in the 1850s. All I know about her is that her mother was also called Sarah.
Any info gratefully appreciated.

William Leeson/ Sarah Tallett Daventry Jun Qtr 1857 3b 172a     or 3b 1722

1st one would be the most likely.

Is that the Daventry 1857 marriage (no males transcribed in FreeBMD) ?

In 1851 shes in Service in Braunston, Daventry - to the Spiers Household:-

1851 - HO107/1741; Folio: 518; Page: 25 - Braunston, Daventry District

and I can see a 1791 Sarah T in Newnham ... need to look at 1841 to see if Sarah jnr is there

1851 - HO107/1741; Folio: 159; Page: 7 - Newnham
 
Sarah Tallett 60 WIDOW  Head School Mistress Newnham
Elizabeth Tallett 20  dau Dressmaker Do
James Jesse Tallett 12  son Kilsley

I'm really struggling to find the family in 1841.

Here's Sarah's mum in 1851 (Sarah jr is in service then)

1851
HO107/1741 159 7
Newnham, Northamptonshire
Sarah Tallett, head, wid, 60, School Mistress, b. Newnham
Elizabeth, dau, unm, 20, Dress Maker, b. do.
James Jesse, son, 12, b. Kilsby

Someone on ancestry has a tree showing James Jesse with parents Richard Tallett and Sarah Higgs.

His birth cert would confirm:
James Jesse Tallett
Mar 1839 Rugby 16 407

ah, but still no link twixt the 2 Sarahs  ....... maybe you should get the 1857 Marriage to check her Dad matches ?

I have just found somewhere amongst all my paper work (!) that William married Sarah on 30 April 1857. Don't know how I can find any proof about Richard being her father though!  Huh

If you order the marriage certificate, it will show her father's name and occupation.
