Thanks for all your efforts.

I have not been able to find anything for the missing years either.  I think a visit to Carlisle or Whitehaven records offices is called for.

Does anyone have access to the England & Wales Christening Records as there is a Janes Vickers , daughter of Betty Vickers on there which I am unable to view?

Sorry, I just saw the last interval.  Must admit I was concentrating on 1816 so it didn't crop up, but |I'll try and experiment earlier in the day tomorrow.  I wonder if the bt's or even the register have a gap there? 

Definitely needs a check with the record office I guess.

Hi Irene,

If these are the ones on findmypast, I tried to use it and paid for a monumental inscription, but as you say, it never opened.  I meant to mail them or put a query on Rootschat, but never got round to it.

The record is on A-----try but as I only have the basic subscription and the England & Wales Christening Records from 1532 are on the more expensive subscription that is the reason I cannot view.

I am in touch with someone also researching the same family and although she has trawled the Parish Records she cannot find any trace of Jane either .

The mystery is still unsolved!
